

Bergen Avenue Reconstruction
SRE served as the major sub-consultant providing construction management, inspection and community liaison services for this $52 million infrastructure project, with the primary scope centered on extensive storm and sanitary sewer construction and major water main upgrades. Work included the installation of large-diameter reinforced concrete and ESVP sewer lines, reconstruction of utility chambers, and coordinated underground utility work to modernize drainage capacity and improve overall system reliability. This project involved significant capital upgrades to Bergen Avenue’s underground infrastructure. NYPS inspected the installation of 24” RCP sanitary sewer 15” ESVP sanitary sewer, 10” ESVP sanitary sewer, and 12” ESVP sanitary sewer. Stormwater capacity improvements included installation of 72” RCP storm sewer , 66” RCP storm sewer , and 60” RCP storm sewer. The team also oversaw construction of Chambers #2, #3, #6, and #7, which support new sewer alignments and system transitions. These improvements addressed chronic drainage issues, replaced aging utilities, and enhanced long-term system performance for the Bergen Avenue corridor. SRE coordinated with DEP, DDC, and utility providers, provided daily inspection, and monitored the ongoing restoration of 1,307 LF of concrete curb and 27,038 SF of 4” and 7” concrete roadway, ensuring that all work met contract requirements and agency standards.
